Bosnia and Herzegovina's Central Election Commission held simulated elections on 11 September to test biometric voter identification, result transmission and the security of new election technology before the 4 October general election, N1 BiH reported, citing the commission. [1]

The commission said 6,854 voters participated, fingerprint verification succeeded in 97.37% of attempts and results reached the central system within an average of five to ten minutes after polls closed. [1]

The exercise did not take place in 14 of 143 municipalities and cities because test ballots arrived late. The commission said a final report would assess how the technology interacted with election procedures, equipment handling and logistics. [1]
