Croatia’s government approved a €260 million support package on 10 September to cushion higher energy costs, SeeNews reported from the cabinet session. The measures are scheduled to apply from 1 October through March 2027. [1]
The package allocates €126 million to restrain electricity prices for households, public institutions and qualifying businesses, alongside roughly €44 million for gas and heating. It also retains price caps on 100 basic products and provides support for vulnerable energy consumers. [1]
ContextThe decision extends the state’s role in absorbing energy-price pressure through winter. Its announced start date means the new package should not be confused with measures already in effect. [1]
