Kosovo Police arrested nine people in Zubin Potok on 27 September on suspicion of war crimes against civilians. Regional broadcaster KOHA reported that the War Crimes Investigation Directorate conducted the operation, codenamed File 23, under an order from the Special Prosecutor's Office. [1]

A joint police and prosecution statement reported by KOHA said the nine suspects were ordered held for 48 hours. Searches at several locations yielded mobile phones, military booklets, weapons, ammunition, cash and other material that investigators described as evidence; the seizures do not establish guilt. ContextAuthorities linked the operation to the case known as the Group of Intellectuals. In August, police, prosecutors and the Institute of Forensic Medicine said preliminary work at suspected burial sites in the municipality had found remains thought to belong to at least 23 people, while stressing that identification required further forensic procedures.
