Rețele Electrice România has completed the modernisation of the 110/20/10 kV Filaret primary substation in Bucharest's District 4, The Diplomat Bucharest reported on 23 September. The company put the investment at almost 79 million lei, financed from its own funds. [1]
The project raises installed capacity from 160 MVA to 200 MVA and adds remote control, a fifth 40 MVA transformer, photovoltaic generation and storage for the substation's own use. The installation serves more than 25,600 customers through 202 secondary substations. [1]
ContextWork began in 2019 and was staged to maintain supply. The operator said Filaret was the last of its Bucharest primary substations still requiring modernisation, completing a network-wide programme rather than announcing a new construction start. [1]
