Croatian and Montenegrin commissions met in Zagreb on 9 October to discuss the training ship Jadran and unresolved succession of former Yugoslav military property. Croatia’s Foreign Ministry described the vessel as one whose return it seeks, while Montenegro maintained that the ship belongs to it. [1] [2]

The delegations were led by Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman and Montenegrin Defence Minister Dragan Krapović. They reviewed documentation and agreed to continue consultations, but announced no settlement or timetable for resolving ownership. [1] [2]

ContextBoth sides framed further dialogue as part of good-neighbourly relations. Croatia reiterated support for Montenegro’s European path while linking constructive resolution of outstanding bilateral issues to the wider accession environment. [1] [2]
