Romania's state-owned Hidroelectrica selected a contractor for a battery energy-storage system at the Iron Gates II hydropower plant, Balkan Green Energy News reported on 11 September, citing the company. [1]

The planned system would provide 64 MW of power and 434.76 MWh of storage. Hidroelectrica put the investment at RON 296.8 million, or about €56.5 million. [1]
