Montenegro's three state-owned energy companies — EPCG, transmission operator CGES and distributor CEDIS — are preparing a joint data centre at the former Željezara Nikšić steelworks, Balkan Green Energy News reported on 18 September. [1]
The companies have launched a tender for a feasibility study and preliminary technical design. They envisage a shared facility for information systems used across critical energy infrastructure, with the option to provide commercial services to outside clients. [1]
ContextCapacity, phases and cost have not been fixed. A final investment decision is expected only after the study and design work, so the proposal remains at a preparatory stage rather than committed construction. [1]
