Montenegro and Japan have signed a five-year energy cooperation memorandum, Balkan Green Energy News reported on 14 September, citing the Montenegrin ministry. The agreement was signed in Tokyo by energy minister Admir Šahmanović and his Japanese counterpart Ryosei Akazawa. [1]
The framework covers energy security, decarbonisation, electricity networks, natural gas and LNG infrastructure. It envisages cooperation among public institutions, researchers, financiers and companies, and can be extended by mutual agreement. The announcement establishes a cooperation framework; it does not confirm financing or construction of a particular project. [1]
