Turkey, Qatar, Pakistan and Indonesia signed the Badr Memorandum of Understanding in Doha on 21 October to deepen defence cooperation and strengthen their military capabilities, Turkey's Defence Ministry said. [1]
The framework covers military production, technical training, research and development. Turkey's Defence Industry Presidency said it was intended to support technology sharing, joint development and domestic production across the four countries. [1]
ContextThe memorandum establishes a cooperation framework; it does not by itself document a weapons order, transfer or completed joint project. Turkey already maintains a military base in Qatar and defence-industry ties with Pakistan and Indonesia. [1]
