Moldovan Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatîi and Ukrainian Defence Minister Yevhenii Khmara signed a military-technical cooperation agreement in Kyiv on 26 October. Moldova's defence ministry said the framework includes cooperation on airspace monitoring and defence. [1] [2]
Ukraine said it was ready to share experience with interceptor drones, electronic warfare, early warning and air-threat information and to help assess Moldova's needs. The statements did not announce a procurement contract, delivery schedule or deployment. [2]
ContextMoldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan described the document as technical military cooperation rather than a security treaty and said it did not alter constitutional neutrality. Moldova's defence ministry said it had recorded more than 100 airspace-violation incidents linked to spillover from Russia's war against Ukraine. [4] [1]
