Moldova says drone alert delayed Zelenskyy’s flight to Norway
Moldova attributed a temporary airspace closure and Zelenskyy’s delayed departure to a drone alert on 8 September. The closure ended. Claims of a near collision were not supported by proximity details.
Romania’s defence ministry reported that a drone crossed southeast of Iași, flew toward Roman and returned to Moldova, where it crashed. This is another location in the same 8 September airspace episode, not an additional drone count.
Officials reported two civilians killed in an overnight Russian drone strike on the Ukrainian side of the crossing. Later reporting said traffic resumed on 9 September. The temporary closure is not shown as ongoing.
