Romania scrambled two F-16 fighters after military radars detected an aerial target that briefly entered national airspace east of Sulina over the Black Sea on 14 October, the Defence Ministry said. [1]
The target returned to Ukrainian airspace and was shot down by air-defence systems there. Romanian authorities issued an RO-ALERT warning for eastern and northern Tulcea County at 10:19 local time and lifted the alert at 11:22. [1]
ContextThe ministry did not identify the drone's operator in its initial account. The incident followed earlier radar detections near Ukraine's Vylkove area that morning, when Romanian aircraft were also launched but no incursion was reported. [1]
